-The cabin is located at 5,500 feet elevation. Dress accordingly. Click here for link to the National Weather Service weather page for Shaver Lake.
-There is a phone at the cabin (559/841-2907). Most cell phones will not work at the cabin. There is no long distance service; please consider buying a calling card to bring with you to enable you to make long distance calls.
-The cabin has 5 bedrooms and a loft, and can sleep 10 comfortably, (2 eastern kings, 2 queens, a bunk with a double and twin) and a few more if air mattresses are brought. The cabin has 3 full bathrooms.
-The cabin has a laundry room with washer and dryer. The kitchen has a dishwasher, double oven and cooktop, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, utensils, dishes, cookware, etc. There's also a propane barbeque grill outside.
-The cabin also has a HD television with DirecTV service with a DVR, a DVD/VCR combo, and a foosball table in the loft.

There is also an HP all-in-one to allow you to print (USB connection...you can download the driver to print at www.hp.com), copy, scan, or fax (not a separate line, if you need to receive a fax, your sender should call you at 559/841-2907 to tell you a fax is coming, then you push start when the phone rings).
-You are required to bring your own sheets and towels.
-The cabin is not inhabited full time. It takes a few minutes to "open" the cabin when you arrive and a few hours to "close" it at the end of your stay. Click here for checklist.
Guidelines
-No pets.
-No smoking. Absolutely no smoking on the inside, and if you must smoke outside, we ask you would dispose of all cigarette butts.
-Respect the neighbors. There are a few families that live in the area full time.
Please keep the noise down.
-Please bring your own paper products, i.e. toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, tissue paper, and your own trash bags (13 gallon).
-There is no trash service, so you are required to take your trash to the bins at Shaver Lake Real Estate (see Maps and Directions page for map). Bring high-quality trash bags with you so you won't have a trash accident in your car on the way to the trash bins. Until your departure, please leave your trash in the garage so as to not attract animals.
-It is required that you have the cabin professionally cleaned by Hope, our housekeeper, after you leave. The fee is $80. We don't want the fee to be a burden to anyone, so if it is, please tell your host family when you book your reservation so we can make arrangements to pay the fee.
Arrivals and Departures
-On your arrival day, please do not enter the cabin before 3pm. If you get to town before that, you are welcome to come to the cabin and unload your car (put your belongings in the garage, not inside the cabin). This will allow the housekeeper to prepare the cabin for you.
-On your departure day, please leave by 11am so there is time for the housekeeper to clean for the next guests.
Reservations
-There is no cost to use the cabin for certain guests. Due to unforseen circumstances, we aren't able to offer stays at the cabin for no charge. We hope to change this back to allowing guests to stay for free in the not-too-distant future, but for now, we are forced to charge most guests for their stay. Currently the fee to stay is $225 per night in the high season (Thanksgiving through March 15 and June 15 through Labor Day), and $160 per night in the off season. If you are interested in using the cabin, click here for a calendar that shows the cabin's up-to-the-minute availability (the calendar shows the night of one's stay as busy). To reserve a time for yourself and your family or friends, call your sponsor family.
-Reservations can be made for any time period,
however, we have a loose priority system and we reserve the right to "bump," but don't expect that to happen very often.
-The cabin is generally not available on major holidays (but it doesn't hurt to ask!).
