When you arrive, please do the following:
-In the winter, turn up the furnace. We leave it at 50 degrees when the cabin is unoccupied.
-In the summer, turn on the air conditioner if needed.
-Go to the garage and turn on the hot water recirculating pump. The switch is on the left wall to the left of the pump and water heater, labeled such.
-Call the housekeeper Hope(see below, things to do before you leave), to tell her the date of your departure so she has plenty of lead time to schedule the cleaning. Call 559/855-2007 and/or 559/978-5072 and ask her to come clean the Moose on Yellow Lupine Lane on the specified date, letting her know what date you are departing. (Note about the cleaning: not to be rude, but we don't need you to think about this. Do not tell Hope when to come. Only tell her of the day you are leaving, and then make sure you are gone by 11:00am. We've had trouble when guests tell Hope what day to come. For instance, they've told her to come on a Sunday if they are leaving on a Saturday. This doesn't work if another guest is coming the same day the previous guest leaves. We've made the leaving and arriving times as they are to accommodate the cleaning time. So when you call Hope, keep it simple, please.)
-Build a fire if desired. Click here for wood-burning stove protocol.
Before you leave the cabin, please do the following:
-Fold blankets and set them on top of the beds.
-Put dishes in the dishwasher and start it.
-Throw away all perishable food (or take it with you).
-Turn off all lights, inside and outside.
-Close all blinds.
-In the winter, turn the heater down to 50 degrees. In the summer, turn the system off.
-Go to the garage and turn off the hot water recirculating pump.
-We don't have trash service, so you'll have to take the trash to the bins at Shaver Lake Real Estate; see map on the driving directions page.
-Clean the wood-burning stove if you used it. Click here for wood-burning stove protocol.
-Ensure all doors are locked.
-Call Hope the housekeeper and confirm your departure. You should have called her upon your arrival to schedule a cleaning. The fee is $80 and checks can be made out to Hope True (seriously) (but cash is preferred). When you leave, call 559/855-2007 or 559/978-5072 and confirm that Hope is coming when you told her you would be leaving (see above, things to do when you arrive).
